Motoshaolin / Episode 5 / Volunteer in Datsan, life in the Tashir ulus and the village of Posolskoye

ulus Tashir, Bato Ninth child in the family

I have no impressions of the city of Ulan-Ude itself, but I have a vivid impression of its inhabitants. I finally got to know the Buryats better, family and ordinary people. Through dialogues I hear how they see the world from a different angle, how kind and hospitable they are inside, how difficult life is in places, but no one complains about it.

Datsans

After a short stay, I went first to the Ivolginsky datsan, then to Iroisky datsan (near Tashir) where I spent several days, and then planned to go to Amarlin, but the weather no longer allowed me to stay in Buryatia. Not having received permission to enter Mongolia and China, I headed for St. Petersburg.

I hadn't had much volunteer experience before, so everything was new. I was especially happy to be in the holy places of the Iroi Valley. I definitely recharged in the mountains. We ate local food, worked during the day, and had conversations in the evening. The internet was good enough to work.

We agreed that Lama and Maria would go earlier, on their own, to the city, and I would go out a little later. Having closed the house and recorded a video for you, having driven relatively not far from home, I got a flat tire. I have never ridden a motorcycle with a flat tire. The experience is not very pleasant and useful for the motorcycle, but there was no choice. But how much joy it was to see the federal highway. After all, it could always be worse, in the rain or at night. Yes, I definitely would not want to be there at night.

Motorcycle club "Opposit"

In less than half an hour I covered the rest of the road, enjoyed the view of the goose lake and reached Gusinoozersk itself, where my comrades from Opposit motorcycle club, who came from Udan-Ude on a tow truck. Special thanks to Zhenya Champion and Yarik, who came for me on a tow truck from such a distance.

Having reached the motohut, we discussed the routes. For example, the route from Khabarovsk to St. Petersburg that he is currently traveling on Denis (note: arrived on October 15), or from Khakassia to Barguzinsk, which Yegor is currently traveling along. We are all united by the feeling of space.

We agreed that you should leave more than you take at bike posts or when you go to visit. In the form of donations, food or even washed dishes, leave more than you take, because who knows what will happen ahead.

As soon as we fixed the wheel, I met with Bayaskhalan Lama, the abbot datsan Amarlin. An amazing meeting and an interesting conversation. We make plans to help people. Lama, having treated me to lunch, called his friends in the village of Posolskoye, which is on my way, and arranged for them to wait for me there.

Village "Posolskoe"

I'm entering the village of Posolskoye. Just take a look. on the map What an incredible place. I am so glad that I accidentally ended up in the Osetrov family. Mom is a school principal, and Dad works in the administration. In less than 12 hours, we covered a thousand li, from an awkward introduction to farewell tears.

This family has two daughters who have not lived with their parents for a long time. One is married to a foreigner, and the other is finishing university in a neighboring city. In that situation, I kind of saw from the outside what my parents go through when they are left alone at home. Using the Osetrovs as an example, I finally became convinced that for real parents it makes no difference whose child it is; for them it makes a difference whether that child is well-fed, whether that child is tired, whether he is happy.

Well-fed, rested and energized, I went home. To my parents.
